Steps & Process
1
The Mediator will explain to each party how the process works from start to
finish and an Agreement to Mediate* is signed by both parties at the beginning of the
process.
2
Individual and/or joint sessions of Mediation take place over an agreed
period of time, either over one day, several days or several weeks.
3
Issues are defined for discussion according to the parties needs and wishes.
4
Throughout the process either together or separately and facilitated by the
Mediator, the parties discuss each issue, explore all options and arrive at a decision.
5
If and when the Parties reach agreement, that is mutually acceptable to all,
this Agreement will be signed and the Mediation Agreement recognised by law under the
terms of the Mediation Act 2017.
*The Agreement to Mediate details when and where the Mediation will take place, how the cost of Mediation will be split equally between the parties and sets out that parties have the right to seek legal or other professional advice throughout the process.
